1st National Bank of Scotia promotes Laura M. Dieterich, Corporate Secretary & Director


SCOTIA (April 19, 2006) - 1st National Bank of Scotia proudly announces the promotion of Laura M. Dieterich, Corporate Secretary & Director. Mrs. Dieterich, has been part of the 1st National team since 1988, most recently serving as Assistant Vice President.

Having learned the inner workings of all areas of the 1st National, from loan origination to branch and departmental operations, Mrs. Dieterich gained valuable experience which she carries to her new position. As Corporate Secretary & Director at 1st National Mrs. Dieterich will facilitate communication with the Board of Directors, Senior Management and Shareholders. She will also oversee the administration of critical Corporate matters and to provide direction and guidance on decisions that effect the Bank's future success. Mrs. Dieterich believes that 1st National has a, "genuine interest in taking care of our customers, and employees alike. We always strive to provide the best service possible to our customers and our community."

Mrs. Dieterich has acquired a wealth of knowledge in areas such as shareholder services, pension plan administration as well as accounting and finance during her time at 1st National. Mrs. Dieterich hopes to gain an increased knowledge of bank management while helping to make sound decisions and provide creative solutions while maintaining 1st National's sterling reputation. Mrs. Dieterich is a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Management, where she earned a B.S. in Finance. She is a Gymnastics Instructor at the Greater Glenville YMCA and is actively involved in the Glen-Worden School PTA. Mrs. Dieterich resides in Glenville with her husband and two daughters.
